Due to some technical difficulties, I have not been able to work on Chapter 32 of How It Came To Be.  I hope to have them resolved soon and continue the story.  With a little luck, I could have the next chapter up by the last weekend in July.  Thank you for your understanding and patience in this situation.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Thirty One

Erin pulled into the driveway at the house, lining up with the left side of the garage... what Master had termed “her side.” She saw His car parked on the driveway behind her mother's car. Erin had a pang of guilt as she pulled her car into the garage. Master should have taken the open spot in the garage and left her to park on the driveway. It just wasn't fair, she thought to herself.

The door to the kitchen opened as Erin was taking some grocery bags out of the back seat. David stood there, smiling at her, which only made Erin more upset. Her sadness spawned a frown and David's eyes fixed on it. “What's wrong, little one?”

“Why didn't you take the open side, Master?” Erin looked like her question was a matter of life and death. David walked over to her and embraced her in his arms. “Is that all you're worried about, Erin?” he asked with a chuckle.

“But now you'll have to move your car to let Mom out and... and...” Erin was vexed at David's reaction to her concern. Didn't He see that she was worried about his car and his having to move it later?

How It Came To Be - Chapter Thirty

Erin saw David off, then started breakfast for the boys. She nursed each one, though for a shorter time than they had before. As Thomas was nursing, Francis was eating finger food with the same gusto that he had shown for his Mother's milk. Erin realized that her babies were growing and soon would be weaned from her breast. While she felt a tinge of sadness for the upcoming loss of intimacy with her children, Erin looked forward to the increased opportunities she would have for play with David.

Once both boys had eaten, Erin moved the play yard into the master bedroom and put the twins in it. “Mommy has some work to do here but we'll play when I'm finished,” she told the boys. She then retrieved a shopping bag from the kitchen and unloaded it onto the bed. Out came a box of large trash bags, a package of card tags and a pair of markers that Erin had picked up the day before.

She pulled out a bag and headed over to the dresser, opening one of the dresser drawers Ronald used. She placed the contents of the drawer neatly into the bag, then did the same with the next drawer. Once a bag was filled, she wrote on the tag his name and what clothing or other possessions were inside and tied the bag shut with the string on the tag.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Nine

David found himself restrained in a vacuum bed, but one like he had never seen before. It seemed to cover him from his shoulders to his thighs, but left his head, arms and lower legs free. The most unusual feature of this vacuum bed, and the most enjoyable, was the sheath his cock was buried in. It was warm... no, hot... and wet-so wet that his cock was sliding in and out of the sheath with a delightful regularity.

No, his cock wasn't sliding... the sheath was sliding up and down his cock... and it was massaging it, squeezing it and generally making it feel soooo good. David struggled to reconcile all these contradictions in his mind but was still stymied as to their explanation. Then he heard a groan... no, a series of moans and panting noises he just couldn't place.

As his mind began to ascend from the fog of drowsiness, he realized he was not in a vacuum bed, he just had a naked Erin lying on him. Well, lying was not quite the operative term here. She was sliding up and down his naked body, having impaled her cunt on his morning wood. Now conscious, David wrapped his arms around his slave.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Eight

Erin sat quietly for a time, deep in thought. David hadn't seen her this quiet all day. Finally she looked up at him. “Master, I think we should let Karen know what we've found out about Ronald.”

That's a good idea, little one. We can call her now. It's not too late.” David pressed the speaker button on his phone. “Karen Akiyama, Erin's lawyer,” he said. The phone read out the number for confirmation, then David said “Call.” The phone dialed, then rang three times before it was answered.

“Law office.” David looked at Erin and nodded.

“Hi, Crystal!  This is Erin Donnelly. I need to talk to Karen for a few minutes. Is she available?”

“Hi, Erin! Let me check. I'll just put you on hold.” The line went silent for a minute or two, then Karen came on the phone.

1. My favorite place to masturbate is ________ ?

Hmm... either in the bathroom or at the keyboard (no, I'm not aiming at it!  What kind of pervs are you?  Certainly not geeky, or you'd know how hard it is to clean cum out of a keyboard.  Besides, I'm old enough that when I hear "At the keyboard" my mind automatically adds in, "of the mighty Wurlitzer Organ."

2. Have you ever masturbated in public? What were the circumstances?

No, never, nyet, nada, non.

3. Do you like mutual masturbation? Why?

For awhile, it was the only way my wife/slave and I could pleasure each other, so while I've done it, I don't really prefer it.

4. When was the last time you masturbated?

Being 60, I suffer from CRS... so I don't remember.

5. Have you ever masturbated on camera?

See my reply to question 1.

...Oh, you mean, have I ever created photographic evidence of my self-abuse onanism masturbation?  NO.

6. Do you like to watch people masturbate?

Yes.  I also like to watch paint dry, cement harden, mold grow on cheese and/or bread and the America's Cup yacht racing series.</sarcasm>

Bonus: Have you filmed yourself masturbating? Care to share that film via a link?

See my reply to question 5.  No, the second reply.  Therefore, there is no link.

Oh, yes.  One more important thing.  I want to remind you all that:

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Seven

Erin knelt beside the sobbing Melissa. She tried to console her friend, but the distraught woman was so upset she didn't appear to know Erin was there. Erin wanted to get Melissa up from the floor but knew she couldn't do it herself. She looked over to David and Sam. They were still squared off against each other and it looked like fists would start swinging any moment. Erin had to act, and act fast.

“DAVID! SAM! Drop the macho act and help me move Melissa!” The two men looked at Erin kneeling next to Melissa. If the situation wasn't so tense the look of shock on both of their faces would have been hilarious.

Sam moved first, dropping his arms and rushing over to kneel by his friend and Dominant. David took a few seconds longer to react, perhaps because he had never experienced Erin shouting at him before. He rushed over to where Erin was kneeling and got down on one knee opposite Sam.

“On three,” he said as they put their arms under Melissa's shaking body. At the signal, they lifted her and moved her over to the chaise lounge. They set her down gently, then went right back to their stand-off.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Six

Erin had never seen her husband so worn and haggard. He had dark circles under his eyes, a five o'clock shadow, unkempt hair and a wrinkled suit. “I wonder where he's been sleeping,” Erin thought to herself, before it hit her. “It was his choice to leave. I didn't throw him out. Fuck him.”

“I asked, who are you waiting for?” Ronald was starting to get angry.

Erin furtively looked around for David. She wanted... no, she needed him by her side right now, but at the same time she was afraid of the scene it would cause. “What would Master want me to do?” she asked herself. Knowing that David would support her emboldened Erin.

“I'm here with a friend, Ronald. We came out to lunch so I could get away from those four dreary walls I've been stuck in ever since you sold my car.” She was matter of fact, with just a touch of defiance in her voice.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Five

David carried Erin into the bedroom to find the closet doors and the dresser drawers were all closed. He carried his slave to the bed and set her down, then turned to inspect the suitcases. Both were still sitting there open and both were filled with David's clothes. Laying beside the two suitcases were two suit bags. David recognized one as his travel suit bag. It contained three different suits from his closet.

He smiled as he saw the other suit bag. It was closed but he knew what it contained. It was a pair of leather outfits-one was a black leather vest and black leather jeans, the other was a black leather blazer with matching black leather pants. He used to wear the former to play parties and the latter to more formal events, sometimes with the vest underneath.

“I am amazed, little one,” David said admiringly. “I didn't believe you when you said you were already done, but you did much better than I would have thought.”

TMI Tuesday-April 30, 2013 The Amateur Detective

(Gardener's note:  I thought I'd take some time out from "How It Came To Be" to answer this week's TMI Tuesday questions.  I'm working on Chapter 25 right now, so be patient.  Erin and David will return!)

The Amateur Detective

TMI_detective
1) Did you ever find someone else’s stash of sex toys, lubes, etc.?
Once.  I found a vibrator in a bedside table drawer of my wife's friend's house while we were staying there for a visit.  It was quite by accident.  However, when I was a teenager, I found my parents' stash of porn books!  They were very enlightening reading.
2) Did you ever search someone else’s computer to determine their porn habits? Were you ever the object of such a search?
I have never searched anyone's computer for porn, nor have I been the subject of a search as far as I know... but my kids might have tried.
3) Did you ever investigate to see if two people were getting it on?
I didn't have to investigate.  Our youngest son  had been living at home when he met this girl who moved in with him.  At times, they were very noisy...

4) Did you ever look for naughty pictures on someone else’s phone?
For the vast majority of my life, having "naughty pictures" on a phone meant there were Polaroids taped to the handset or base!
5) Were you ever involved with an investigation (formal or informal) into whether some one was cheating on his/her lover?
Again, no.

Bonus: Do you have a secret online identity so that you can find a secret lover?
No, I have a secret online identity so I can publish the erotica I write.

Now go see what others have written!  TMI Tuesday Blog

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Four

Erin hugged David a few minutes, then he gently raised her chin and said, “We've got much to do today, but there's a few more things we need to get here.”

“What more could I ask for?” Erin said in amazement.

“Oh, this is more for me,” David said. “Come over here,” he said to Erin as he guided her to a display of gags, “though you might enjoy them, too... I hope.”

“Is a gag really necessary?” Erin asked hesitantly.

“In some cases, yes,” David explained. “It's not necessarily that I want to silence you, it's that I may want to put you into a more submissive mindset.”

Erin came up to the display of gags. There were ball gags in red, black, blue, green and white. Some had holes all over them like a wiffel ball. Others looked like a horse's bit and were made of leather, rubber or even metal. There were gags that were just rings and ones that had metal rods welded to them that looked like spider legs. Others covered the whole mouth and had either a ball on the inside or a rubber penis. One gag even had what looked like a drain plug in its center.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Three

“Colleen, what happened to last night?” David asked as he got up from the floor and faced Erin's mother. He was annoyed but he tried to stay in control.

“What do you expect me to do when I see my daughter in pain?” she retorted.

“Yes, she's feeling a bit of pain, but it was consensual,” David explained, an edge of exasperation creeping into his voice.

Colleen was seething. “What's that bullshit mean?” she demanded.

“I did spank her, Colleen. Hard,” he said, “but she agreed, no she asked me to do it. That's what I mean by consensual.”

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty Two

Erin awoke early as always. When she opened her eyes, she saw David sleeping peacefully next to her, so she lay there for a few minutes and just watched him as he slept. She remembered the events of the previous day. Her ass was a bit sore and her pussy was somewhat tender, but not as tender as where David's beard had rubbed her thighs. Erin didn't care, however. She had never been so happy to see a person laying beside her as she was when she saw him.

Erin finally slipped out from under the covers so she could check on the twins. She remembered that she was naked except for her collar, which made her smile. When was the last time she slept naked with her lover? Her honeymoon? It didn't matter, she thought as she walked over to the bedroom door. Whenever it was, it was never like this.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty One

David ran down the hall from the bedroom to the kitchen, slowing down only to grab one of the new garage door opener remotes off the kitchen counter. He punched the “OPEN” button as he flung open the kitchen door and ran into the garage. He ran to his car, parked outside on the driveway. Pulling his keys out of his pants pocket, he unlocked the driver's door and jumped in. He started the engine, put the car in “DRIVE” and pulled into the garage, pressing the “CLOSE” button on the remote as he cleared the garage door. He then clipped the remote on his visor.

Erin followed David as quickly as she could through the house. She was just about to run through the kitchen door to the garage when she realized that it was still early, the garage lights were on and she was completely naked. Erin jumped back and cautiously stuck her head around the door jamb in time to see David pull the car into the garage and close the door.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twenty

David carried Erin out to the car and set her down in the passenger's seat. “Master, I could have walked here,” she said.

“And yet, you let me carry you all the way,” David replied with a smile.

“It felt so, so... romantic,” Erin cooed.

“Good!” David said. “I never want us to lose the romance. Life isn't just about fucking and beating and binding you up. It's about sharing tender, intimate moments with you as well.”

“But, Master, you don't have to do that for me,” Erin insisted. “You know you can use me any way you want. Fuck me, beat me, humiliate me... I'm your property.”

“But what if I want to have a romantic evening with you?”

How It Came To Be - Chapter Nineteen

David walked into the dining room and stopped dead in his tracks. The table was almost groaning under the weight of the food piled on it. Erin and Barb had about an hour to prepare the meal and David was amazed with what they had come up with on such short notice.

It wasn't gourmet fare, but it all looked fantastic. For an entree, David saw a pile of hamburgers with all the fixings: leaf lettuce, tomato slices and onions, pickles and even cheese and bacon. Buns were overflowing a basket nearby. Ketchup, mayonnaise, pickle relish and mustard were available. There were three different kinds of chicken wings, from mild to wild. A pot of chili sat on the counter in the kitchen.

The girls had prepared home-made coleslaw and macaroni salad and Erin had borrowed a tub of potato salad from Grace, her neighbor across the street. Baked beans, potato chips and fresh veggies for dipping into ranch dip completed the menu. It was like a backyard barbeque, but indoors.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Eighteen

David, George and Enrico set themselves to the task of dismantling the old bed. George stripped the linen off the mattress and put it in one corner of the room. The three men then lifted up the mattress and leaned it against the far wall. They extracted the box springs from the frame and set it with the mattress. Then they turned to the frame. It was put together with bolts.

“I'll go and get my toolbox from the van,” Enrico said. As he left, George thought of something and was about to follow him, but David stopped him. “What's up, David?” George asked.

“I'm a bit worried, to tell the truth,” David confessed.

“Worried? Why are you worried?” George asked.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Seventeen

David was on the phone with the manager of the mattress store he and Erin had researched online. “I'm sorry, Mr. Saunders, but I cannot see any way to accommodate your request,” the manager told him.

“Do you have the mattress in stock, as it indicates on your website?” David inquired.

“Yes, Mr. Saunders, we do.”

“Is it on site or at a remote warehouse?

“I can assure you we have it right here in our store's stockroom. You are welcome to come down here and pick it up,” the manager offered.

“I can't. I have so many things to take care of here,” David insisted. “You've said you cannot deliver the mattress set today. May I ask the reason?”

How It Came To Be - Chapter Sixteen

David smiled at Colleen. “I wanted to do this sooner, but there's only so many hours in a day and even a dom has to sleep.”

“Is that true?” she joked. David realized that Colleen had not taken the sudden change well. Even though she sounded like she was teasing, David could see her smile was forced.

“How are the boys, Mom?” Erin asked.

“It's just about time for them to get up,” Colleen replied.

“I'll go in and take care of them,” Erin said. “You want to come help, Master?”

“I would like to talk with your Mom for a little while, then I'll be in,” David told her.

“OK, Master!” Erin turned and went into the nursery.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Fifteen

With “Hurricane Melissa” safely blown out to sea, the four survivors of the tropical tempest began the daunting task of rebuilding from the rubble. At least, that's what it felt like any time Melissa made an appearance at the Emporium. When the front door closed behind her, Barb looked at George, then they both gave a sigh of relief.

Erin turned to David and said, “I'd love to stay here all day, but I need to get back to the twins and Mom needs to get home. How much longer will we be here?”

“How many outfits did you pick out?” David asked.

“Well, I don't know which one I want more,” Erin said. “You really liked the latex mini-dress, and I saw a corset I'd like to try, but I wore that leather outfit for the flogging so I guess I'll just take that.” She tried to look happy but David could tell she was disappointed.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Fourteen

The four were basking in that afterglow that comes from an intense sexual experience. David noticed that Barb was studying him a little closer than usual. He wondered what she was up to.

Barb leaned over to whisper in George's ear. “Why don't you take Erin to get changed so you can pack up her outfit to take home?” she suggested. “Maybe let her look at some other outfits she might want. She looks so hot in leather.”

“Why don't you do that, instead, Barb?” George countered. “I mean, you're women, after all. She might be uncomfortable with me hanging around her while she's changing.”

“I thought you two subbies would like a chance to bond,” Barb replied dryly. “Besides, I've got something I need to do.” As she said that, Barb glanced over at David. George nodded his head slightly.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Thirteen

"Take my hand, Erin,” David ordered. Erin brought her right hand from behind her back and took hold of David's outstretched hand. “Come with me, now.” They walked across the room, passing rack after rack of leather items. The aroma of the leather was heady as Erin breathed deeply of it.

David brought her into the third room and Erin could clearly see the device that had caught her eye earlier. It was a wooden “X”, finished in a deep walnut with bright silver bolts holding it together. There were holes evenly spaced along the center of each arm at a regular interval. A sturdy silver eye bolt was inserted in one of the holes on each arm.

“Stay here for a moment,” David ordered. He wasn't stern or loud, but the tone of his voice left Erin no choice but to obey. She stood there while David stepped away for a minute. He then walked in front of her and knelt down on one knee. Erin was confused... why was he kneeling before her? She realized the answer as she felt a leather strap tighten on her left ankle. David then snapped a lock on the cuff and Erin got a funny feeling she couldn't identify immediately.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Twelve

Back on the road, Erin was excited. “So you're going to start my training?”

“It looks like I'm going to have to,” David said. “You really don't seem to know too much about that thing we do.”

“What thing?” Erin asked.

“BDSM,” David replied. “Sometimes you'll see it referred to as “TTWD.” That's the acronym for “that thing we do.” You might also see it referred to as “WIITWD”-that means “what it is that we do.” Since the term BDSM sounds so specific but covers so many fetishes, kinks and whatever, people try to come up with different ways to express themselves.”

“I see, Sir,” Erin said.

“Now you may hear people talk about or refer to themselves as a top, bottom, dom, sub, master, slave, owner, property or pet,” David continued. “Are you familiar with any of those terms?”

How It Came To Be - Chapter Eleven

As they pulled out of the parking lot at the Akiyama & Akiyama law office, Erin looked over at David and asked, “What are we doing next?”

Next up, we're going to do some shopping,” he replied.

“Ooh! Shopping!” Erin exclaimed, smiling. “You really know how to treat a girl right! I could use some new outfits, I definitely need new shoes, and...”

“Slow down there, little one,” David replied, chuckling. “I'm in the market for something specific, so don't get your hopes up too high.”

“What do you mean?” Erin asked as David pulled into a parking lot. She scanned the stores in the shopping center, looking for a clothing or shoe store. Seeing none, she sat back in her seat with a pouty face. “It looks like there's nothing but boring places here!” she protested.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Ten

Erin woke up about 6:00 AM and realized that she hadn't gotten up at two. She glanced over at the door to her bedroom, but she had opened it after her “lesson” last night. She got up and went into the nursery to check on her boys. Francis was still asleep but Thomas was awake and laying quietly in his crib, studying the mobile dangling above him.

At about 8:30 AM, Erin's cell phone rang. She recognized her mother's number and answered the phone. “Hi, Mom! How are you today?” she asked.

“I'm fine,” Colleen replied, “and you sound better than you have in weeks... months even. What happened?”

“I got to sleep a whole seven hours, Mom, that's what!” Erin boasted.

“You mean both of the boys slept through the night?”

“Yes, Mom, they did!” Erin was almost giddy.

How It Came To Be - Chapter 9.5

(Telephone rings.)

“Hello, welcome to the Master David Learn By Phone Academy for Future Slaves. This is your Teacher speaking. Are you calling for your initial lesson?”

“Um, well... yes I am.” (Giggles.)

“I see. And whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with tonight?”

“Um... Erin?”

“I see. You will be addressed as “Future Slave Erin.””

How It Came To Be - Chapter Nine

Erin and David sat on the sofa while Colleen sat on the loveseat to their left. Erin sat closer to her mother and held David's hand for support.. There was silence for almost a minute.

Erin began, “Mom, I heard from Ronald this morning.” Both Colleen and David noticed that Erin was calling him by his given name now, not his nickname.

“I take it the conversation was not pleasant,” she observed.

“No, Mom, and that's why I asked David to be here with me when I told you,” Erin explained.

“Why him?” Colleen asked.

“He will be able to explain some... things better,” Erin said, blushing slightly.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Eight

Erin watched with concern as Val drove away. As she walked back to the house, she wondered how long would it take for David to get her note, and how much longer until he responded to it? Or would he? “No,” Erin thought, “I've got to stay positive. He will call. I know it.”

Back inside the house, Erin checked on the twins. Both needed changing. She took them, one at a time, into the nursery, got each of the boys in a dry diaper and a change of clothes and laid them down for an afternoon nap.

With her babies safely ensconced in their cribs, Erin headed for the kitchen to forage for lunch. A survey of the leftovers collected in the refrigerator left her with the lasagna as the only logical choice. It had been in the fridge the longest and she hated to throw anything out if she could avoid it.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Seven

Running around the house, Erin searched for just the right piece of note paper to write her message to David. Francis and Thomas giggled in delight as they watched her. They didn't understand her emotional state, they just knew that Mommy wasn't crying any more.

Having found the paper, pen and envelope, Erin sat down and... She wasn't quite sure what to say. She didn't want to miss Val and her only chance to contact David, so she decided to keep it short and to the point. Having written the note, she stuck the paper in the envelope and, in her haste to finish, just tucked the flap of the envelope inside rather than sealing it.

Erin made sure that the boys were safe in the play yard, then sat down in the living room and watched for Val to come out of the house across the street. When she saw the technician return to her van, Erin jumped up and ran out the front door. Flying across the street, she came up to Val just as she was picking up the traffic cone before leaving.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Six

Monday morning was busy for Erin. In addition to her normal chores, she had to pack to take the twins to the Akiyama & Akiyama law office. This involved packing two complete diaper bags, one for Francis and one for Thomas, packing a third bag with toys for the boys to play with in their play yard, locating the side-by-side umbrella stroller and prepping the play yard itself for loading in the car.

Just before noon, Erin was looking through the nursery closet trying to locate the stroller. She started to panic because it wasn't where she normally would keep it and she couldn't imagine what she would have done with it. “Think, Erin, think,” she said to herself out loud, “when did you use it last?” She suddenly remembered that the last time she had seen the stroller, it was in the trunk of her car. That meant...

How It Came To Be - Chapter Five

Mom, I gotta know,” Erin said as they drove down the street, “who gave you the recommendations for the last two law offices?”

Colleen thought for a few seconds. “Oh, right!” she started, “Joan gave me the recommendation for the first one and Bonnie gave me the second.”

“Well, that explains a lot,” Erin remarked. “Who recommended this last one?”

“That was Ginny,” Colleen replied.

“Well, I hope Ginny has better judgment than your other friends,” Erin said.

They ended up on a quiet street not too far away from where they both lived. It was primarily a residential area but had professional offices on the main thoroughfares that bordered the section. The lawyer's office was in a house where the garage was converted into an office. A sign in the front yard read “Akiyama and Akiyama, Attorneys at Law.” Colleen pulled into the driveway and parked in front of the office.

How It Came To Be - Chapter Four

Erin and her mother drove through the shopping district of the city. Erin was still agitated over Ronnie selling her car and didn't notice where they were going until they pulled up in front of the store for Colleen's cell phone carrier.

“Is there a lawyer's office in this shopping center?” Erin asked as she looked around. “I don't know how good a storefront lawyer would be.”

“We'll go look for a lawyer after this,” Colleen replied, “but let's get you a cell phone first.”

“Screw the cell phone!” Erin exclaimed, still agitated. “I want to get a lawyer first!”

How It Came To Be - Chapter Three

Colleen returned to Erin's home about thirty minutes later, carrying a bag from a chain restaurant that advertises “curb side service.” As she walked in, Erin could smell the aroma of steaks wafting from the bag. “I thought that you might appreciate a good take out meal,” she said to her daughter.

Erin smiled as she replied, “I've been actually craving Chinese food, but the steak smells divine!” They headed into the dining alcove, where Colleen set out the food and Erin brought out the utensils. She was just about to sit down when she heard a noise from the direction of the nursery. “Duty calls,” she said, sighing.

Colleen followed her into the nursery. The two boys were in their cribs, Francis to the left and Thomas to the right. Erin picked up Francis and checked on him. “Well, he needs a new diaper,” she concluded. Colleen did the same for Thomas, with the same conclusion. “I'll help you,” she offered. “That way, we can get this done in half the time.”

How It Came To Be - Chapter Two

For the next two weeks, Erin played the part of a dutiful wife and mother. She took care of the twins, kept the house clean and cooked every evening. She kept up appearances in the hope that Ronnie would notice and change back to the man with which she had fallen in love.

In actuality, Ronnie never noticed any of Erin's efforts, or if he did he never mentioned them to her. She hardly heard him say anything now. He didn't even call her to let her know he was “working late.” It was like two strangers had taken up living in the same house.

The weekdays were bad enough. Erin was virtually a prisoner in her own home. She hadn't gone anywhere in over a month. Her mother started calling her on a daily basis since Erin's cry for help, so at least she could have one intelligent adult conversation a day.

How It Came To Be - Chapter One

Take that thing out and act like an adult. You're the mother of twins now. You don't have time for playing silly games.”

Erin Donnelly stood there, stunned. She had never heard her husband Ronnie so... so... cold before. It was as if with the birth of their twins he no longer considered her sexy but now considered her a nanny good only for raising his children.

The insistent loud beeping of the “off the hook” signal snapped her out of her daze. Erin realized that tears were rolling down her cheeks. Was she now so unattractive that her own husband rejected her? Erin started thinking of ways she could prove herself worthy of his love again.

Ride Along - Chapter Eight

As we followed Val's car, Erin was excited. “Do you think I'll be able to fulfill my fantasy tonight, Master?” she asked expectantly.

“Well, I don't know, little one,” I replied, trying to contain my own anticipation. “I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.”

She sat back in the passenger's seat with a little pout. “I was afraid you'd say that, Master,” she said in mock disappointment. The pout lasted only a few seconds before she started giggling, however.

“You've got to learn to hold your enthusiasm in a bit better if you want to fake disappointment,” I said smiling. Erin leaned against my shoulder as her left hand wandered to my crotch. She stroked the bulge there. “I think you're looking forward to it, too,” she said mischievously.

Ride Along - Chapter Seven

I see you're going by “Master David” now,” Val said, smiling. “Does that mean good news?”

“Oh, no,” I protested. “Ladies first. Besides, have you been here before?”

Val's cheeks reddened. “No, this is my first time.”

“Well, then, newbies first,” I corrected myself. “By the way, would you like to sit with me?”

“I am meeting someone here,” Val insisted. “In fact, she's late. If she doesn't have a very good reason, she won't be able to sit for a week when I get through with her.”

“That's alright,” I assured her. “I have a friend with me, too, so it'll be the four of us.” I led her over to the table where I had been sitting.

We both sat down where we could observe the door. Val was a bit anxious. “So, what's been happening with you?” I asked, trying to take her mind off her tardy friend.

Ride Along - Chapter Six

I returned to the living room and went over by the TV. Sharon came out shortly after me. She had changed into a sundress that was stylish yet modest. When Val came inside to check her work and close out the work order, she looked from me to Sharon and back to me. I just smiled.

As Val explained her work and had Sharon sign the work order, I noticed that Sharon was acting more restrained than before. It looked like she was already trying to change the image Val had of her. Again, Val didn't seem to notice.

When I closed my door, Val looked over at me with a smirk on her face. “So, did ya get 'lucky'?” she asked. I smiled back at her and said, “A gentleman never tells.” “Yeah,” she said as she backed out of the driveway, “I don't know all that many gentlemen in this line of work.”

Ride Along - Chapter Five

“I can't believe it!” Val said, laughing as we drove to our next appointment. “You were this close to scoring and then you turn around and save their marriage. You're incredible!”

“How did you know I was close?” I asked Val. “Wait. Were you spying on us?”

Val's laugh turned to a cough. “When you put it that way it sounds so... so...”

“Aha!” I shot back. “You were spying!”

“I thought it was sweet, what you said, but how did you know she was kinky?” Val asked.

“I didn't, but I'd say most people are at least a little bit kinky, if you look below the surface.'” I replied.

Prime - Flash Fiction Friday, March 15, 2013

(Gardener's note: This was an interesting challenge Advizor gave us today.  The key word was "Regret" and you see the photo below.  the story length was left up to the individual author, but had to be a prime number.  I decided to go for brevity with the first five primes.  To see how others handled this, go to "Free advice is worth what you pay for it.")

“Regrets? None.” (2)

He regretted nothing. (3)

He regretted nothing he'd done. (5)

He regretted nothing that he had done. (7)

As he watched her dress, he had no regrets at all. (11)

Ride Along - Chapter Four

When we walked up to our first appointment of the afternoon, there was a sign on the front door that said, “Please do not ring doorbell. Young children sleeping.” Val gave the door two quiet raps. The door swung open a crack and a pretty face looked out. “Are you the TV guys?”

“Yes we are, Mrs. Donnelly,” Val confirmed, holding up her ID badge. “This is my partner, Dave” she continued as I displayed my ID. “We'll be sure to be as quiet as possible.” She opened the door and we went in.

“How old?” I asked.

“How old?” Mrs. Donnelly echoed, a bit confused. Then her face brightened and she said, “Oh! The twins. They're about six months old, and you can call me Erin.”

“That's a great age, Erin,” I said, returning her smile.

Ride Along - Chapter Three

We ended up at a small but very nice Indian buffet restaurant. We had made up enough time, especially with the Vietnamese customer, that we were the first two customers for the lunchtime rush. We dished up some superb looking food and sat down in a booth in the rear of the dining room.

Val and I exchanged small talk for a few minutes, giving each a thumbnail sketch of ourselves. Val was 33, had lived in the city for about eight years and worked for the company for five. She was unmarried and living on her own in an apartment over by the river. I was 31, had lived here for five years and worked for the company for four years. I was divorced and living in a condo in a nearby suburb.

We both liked the same movies: Sci-Fi, big name summer blockbusters and classic B&W movies. Neither of us could stand reality TV shows. Val liked dance music and I floored her when I told her I liked J-pop: Japanese pop/rock music. That was when we found out we both liked anime. I like almost anything that was good while Val was partial to mecha, also known as “Giant Robots,” or anything having to do with space. She also liked comedies.

Ride Along - Chapter Two

We got on the road early, beating the other trucks by about ten minutes. I noticed the third ride along CSR, a young woman, was still standing there as her tech struggled to get cartons of set top boxes (STBs) stowed in his truck. Val noticed it, too.

“That's usually how I start my day when I'm assigned a shadow. It's refreshing to have one who's not a stranger to hard work and can take directions well,” she said as we pulled out onto the street.

“Your tax dollars at work,” I replied, giving her a sincere smile. Val seemed a bit
skittish to me. It was like she was happy to have me along but was dreading something she knew would be inevitable. I was happy to get out from in front of the computer for a day and was enjoying myself already. I wanted her to feel the same way I did, I just didn't know how to do so.

Ride Along - Chapter One

(Gardener's note:  I re-read "Ride Along" a few days ago and decided to revise and re-post it.  I tightened up some of my writing, made some corrections to correspond with what I've since written to match up this story with "How It Came To Be." )

I work in technical support for a subscription television service-sorry, I can't tell you which one. You'll understand why soon enough. I'm the live voice you experience after battling with the computer voice you love to hate. I'll either walk you through fixing your problem or schedule a technician to come out to fix your problem.

If I'm the voice of the company, then the technician that does the service calls that is the face of the company. They're out there, day after day-sun, rain, snow, wind, heat or cold-helping our customers get the most out of our television service. Occasionally, they help our customers get the most out of other “services”-at least, according to a co-worker of mine who was a former tech who (as he said) came “in out of the cold” to do telephone customer service.

You Like Me!

I'm honored to let you know that I have been nominated for the Very Inspirational Blogger Award (see above).  Wordwytch was so gracious as to nominate me (along with a cast of thousands... or at least 22, IIRC!)  Here are the rules of the award:

1.) Display the award logo on your blog.
2.) Link back to the person who nominated you.
3.) State 7 things about yourself.
4.) Nominate 15 bloggers for this award.
5.) Notify those bloggers of the nomination by linking to one of their specific posts so that they get notified by ping back.

So the award shown above will be displayed on the main page and I already link to Adventures of a Word Wytch (you should, too, if you don't now) so Rule 1 & 2 are fulfilled.

For my seven facts... hmmm...
1. At one time, I owned a racing car.  It was also my commute car, but it was set up for the Sports Car Club of America Showroom Stock Sedan class.  The car only made one race, where it came in third, with a friend as driver as I didn't have my competition license at the time (I still don't!)
2. Little-known fact: the town I grew up in once had as a garbageman a young, struggling comedian named Joe Piscopo.
3. I am a rabid anime fan.
4. I've been to every continent except South America and Antarctica.
5. I once had the opportunity to pet a rhinoceros.  It was surprisingly docile, perhaps because it had lived almost all its life at Six Flags Great Adventure's Safari park.
6. My favorite seasons, in order, are Fall, Spring, Winter and Summer.  I guess I put Summer last because I grew up at the Jersey Shore and Summer, while lots of fun, also means lots of tourists and congestion!
7. I (and my wife) have a house rabbit as a pet.  He is free to roam the house during the day but goes to his "hutch" at night.

Now to pick fifteen bloggers who haven't been given the award yet...

Oh, and since I'm overwhelmed by the honor, I'll just let Sally Field do the talking for me:

"Details"-Flash Fiction Friday, March 8, 2013

(Today's Flash Fiction Friday challenge from Advizortoall: No more than 200 words, not including title, with the key word "Conclave" in the body of the story and referencing the following picture.  I chose not to go for any of the extra credit.)

Details

“Cardinal Rabinowitz's Office, His Eminence's social secretary speaking.”

“Brother Maxwell, this is Monseigneur Delacroix,” I intoned. “I just received a disturbing call from the rector at St. Swivens Cathedral. Wasn't His Eminence scheduled to be there today?”

There was the clicking of computer keys as the secretary accessed his calendar. “Yes, he was scheduled to be there today but as you are well aware, he had to fly to Rome to attend the conclave, now that His Holiness has stepped down.”

"They've Always Beein Good To Me"-Flash Fiction Friday, February 22, 2013

(Gardener's note: Another Friday, another Flash Fiction Friday challenge from AdvizerToAll.  The challenge this time: 250 words or less, using somewhere in the story a synonym for "fixed" but not the word itself and writing about the following picture.   There is a bonus for including a link to my favorite Tumblr other than his.  Go to his blog, Free Advice is worth what you pay for it to see who else contributed this week!)

The kitchen faucet needed servicing. I went to my neighbor across the hall for a recommendation. “Call Pat's Plumbing” she said. “They've always been good to me.” So I did. Pat said “I'll have a plumber there ASAP.”

Twenty minutes later, I heard a knock. “Pat's Plumbing” the person on the other side said. It was Pat. “Come in,” I replied, then I started to explain my problem. “I need my kitchen faucet repaired-the leak is getting worse.” The overalls-wearing plumber got right on the job, not even taking their ball cap off. Since I don't like to hover around and bother professionals while they work, I went back into my bedroom and got on the computer.

The Erotic Home: TMI Tuesday, February 5, 2013

1. When you bought your bed frame, did you evaluate it in terms of ropes, handcuffs, etc?
Sadly, no. We could only afford a cheap metal frame.
2. Aside from beds, was sex ever a major consideration in choosing a piece of furniture?
My wife says chose the sofa and loveseat because they had large rounded armrests that she felt would be perfect for my bending her over for spankings or sex.
3. Have you ever had anyone else (friend, mom) say a piece of your furniture was inappropriate because it was clearly for sexual purposes?
No... at least, not yet.
4. Do you have a piece of furniture that has a stain caused by bodily fluids (baby vomit not included)?
Um..., yes.
5. Do you have anything in your beside table you wouldn’t want your father or mother to know about?
Not in the bedside table. In the bottom drawer of my dresser, however... and then there's the toybag in the closet in the computer room....
6. Do you own any exercise equipment that is useful for sex?
What's exercise equipment? I have looked at one of those weight benches with the adjustable back. My wife has problems standing so I was thinking of using that so she could sit during floggings.
7. Aside from your bedroom, what room do you have sex in most often?
Living room.
8. Do you have any electronics (TV, stereo) etc in your bedroom that are on during sex?
No, unless you count the DVR recording any programs we might miss...
