Car Show

(Gardener's note: This was an easy challenge this week!  Today's challenge-between 100 and 135 words (excluding the title), with the phrase "the scent of (noun)" somewhere in the body of the story and based on the photo below.  Panserbjørne hosts  Flash Fiction Friday..  Go check out his blog to see who else played.)

I'm polishing the last piece of chrome on the passenger's door of my just-restored '55 Chevy. The car show starts in two hours.

Crouched down beside the car, I hear the driver's door slam and feel the car rock a bit. I look up to see Janet, my girlfriend, stick her head out of the open window. “I love these old cars” she says, smiling seductively.

A Weekend Alone-Flash Fiction Friday, May 18, 2012

(Gardener's note: I didn't think I could come up with a story this week but one came to me just a few minutes ago as I was preparing breakfast.  Sorry it's a little late-if it's any consolation, I've been running late all week! Today's challenge-between 66 and 122 words (excluding the title), with the phrase "rough and scratchy" somewhere in the body of the story and based on the photo below.  Panserbjørne is back hosting  Flash Fiction Friday..  Go check out his blog to see who else played.)

The kids were at Grandma's so we had the weekend alone for once.  We planned to go out for dinner and a movie and were rushing around trying to get ready.  It had been a crazy week, so things were not where they should be.  Connie and I kept running up and down the stairs to get this or take that where it needed to be.

Along the Seawall-Flash Fiction Friday, May 11, 2012

(Gardener's note: Again, apologies for being a bit late.  Today's challenge-under 100 words (excluding the title), with the phrase "hint of mischief" somewhere in the body of the story and based on the photo below.  Panserbjørne is back hosting  Flash Fiction Friday..  Go check out his blog to see who else played.)

There was a hint of mischief in the air as she walked beside the seawall. Young or old, male or female, no one could resist her aura.

Truth or Dare: Flash Fiction Friday, May 4, 2012

(Gardener's note: Another Friday, another FFF Challenge from Ram The Sunlover.  The challenge this time: 171-175 words or less, using somewhere in the story the word payment  and writing about the following picture.  Family issues prevented me from getting this done before now.)

She had planned it all out, researching it to make sure it would work. She had rehearsed it five or six times, to make sure she could get it done in the time allotted while getting it right and being able to get out of it. The only remaining task was to position the camera, record and upload the session.
